Cocktail Hour - Spooky Cocktail Edition

Hey y’all!
If you watched cocktail hour Friday, you saw me attempt to make four fun Signature Cocktails for your halloween get-togethers!  I have to say, after “tasting” all four of these babies, I have my favorite!!  READ to the bottom to find out!  :).
Ok, now, we started with the simple…
Pumpkin Ale Float

  • One scoop of Pumpkin or Vanilla Ice Cream…preferably Blue Bell!
  • Pumpkin Ale…you can use any seasonal beer.  (I also tried this before with a Hard Apple Cider beer, and oooooh, YES!)
Next, I made a…
Black Magic

  • 1 oz “Black” Vodka (if you can’t find this in your liquor store, make it with vodka and black food coloring drops!…easy peasy!!)
  • 3/4 oz of fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 oz of simple syrup
  • Gold Shimmer dust…a small spoonful.
In a shaker full of ice, mix vodka, lime juice and simple syrup.  Shake really well to get reallllly cold!  Then, pour into a martini glass.  Gently stir in the shimmer dust.  I played with this a little.  Better to put the shimmer dust in the glass first!  :). Gorgeous drink!!
I moved on to a Spooky Cocktail!  This one was FUN!!
Ghost In The Graveyard

  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 oz coffee liqueur
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 1-2 pieces of dry ice!!   EEEEEk…so fun!
First, put your dry ice in the bottom of a clear glass.  I think a rocks glass is perfect for this!!! (or an old-fashioned glass!) Then, top that with a scoop of ice cream.  In a shaker with ice, add your vodka and coffee liqueur, shake well.  Add that to your glass and be prepared for the “oooooohhhhs and ahhhhhhs!”  This is a party starter, people.  Although, I recommend this drink after your meal!!
Now!  To get the party STARTED!  Greet your guests with this bad boy:
Vampire Cocktail….or I call it I Want To Suck Your Bloooood!

  • 1 oz Vodka
  • 1 ox Amaretto
  • Splash of OJ
  • Splash of Club Soda or Tonic
  • 1 100c syringe of Raspberry sauce.
Ok…for the raspberry puree sauce.  I like to add a small container of raspberries, 1/4 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar to a small pot.  Let boil for a couple minutes, then simmer for about 10 minutes.  Take the mixture and strain it through a fine-mesh strainer.  This takes a little work.  I use a small spatula and scrape it down and mash the juice through and then throw the seeds away!!  This leaves you with a DELISH raspberry sauce for this cocktail or to top cheesecake or brownies or anything!!!!!
Now…for the drink:
Add your vodka and amaretto to a shaker with ice and shake well.  Pour over a glass of ice.  Important to use a clear glass, and preferably an old-fashioned glass.  Then, add your splash of OJ and Soda.  Gently sir…this is yummy already!  Next add the pre-filled syringe of raspberry sauce to the glass and let your guests inject their own blooooood to the cocktail!  Y’all…if this ain’t fun, I don’t know what is!!!  Truly!  I need some pics of this party!
THERE YOU GO!  Four awesome Halloween party drinks!  Have a great Halloween, and be SAFE!
Now…My favorite reveal!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Black Magic cocktail.  I think it is just the yummiest!  I also love how classy it looks with the shimmer.  I have said it before, I love anything with a splash of lime juice, so that may have persuaded me!  For the affects though…the Ghost in the Graveyard is a winner.  I am now addicted to watching what Dry Ice can do!!
