When people hear I'm heading to "market," the usual response is, "Oh, that must be so much fun!" And they're not wrong—it is fun. It’s a beautiful swirl of color, creativity, and inspiration. But it’s also a serious, thoughtful part of this business I hold so close to my heart. Next week, I’ll be traveling to Atlanta for one of my biggest buying trips of the year. I’ll spend long, full days on my feet, walking miles through showrooms, handpicking the items that will line the shelves of Monogramme No. 29 this holiday season and beyond.
Each decision I make isn’t just about what’s trending or what’s pretty—it’s about you, our customer. It’s about how a gift will feel when it's received, how a cozy item might bring comfort, or how a piece of jewelry can make someone feel beautiful.
This year feels different. Heavier. Our small town and neighboring communities are still walking through recovery, heartbreak, and healing. It’s a season of grief and grit, and I’ve found myself reflecting even more on the why behind what I do. My hope is to fill our store with items that offer warmth, hope, and a little light to carry home. And to be honest, I’m walking into this trip with my own little challenges. I’ve been dealing with a pretty painful bout of knee arthritis, and I’m praying that a recent steroid injection gives me the strength to power through the long days ahead. I’m resting up now, doing what I can, and trusting that grace will meet me there.
So yes—market is exciting, creative, and full of potential. But it's also deeply rooted in purpose. I want every item in our boutique to be chosen with care and intention, because you and your stories matter. Your homes, your holidays, your everyday moments—they matter.
